Alla in Oregon

Alla, our staff psychologist, just returned from Oregon where she spent two weeks sharing about her work with Holocaust survivors. Several events took place, with an art exhibition from Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum on display at each one. The exhibit entitled Anguish of Liberation: As Portrayed Through Art, helped people to understand that the suffering didn't end with the war. Many survivors and their families are still in the healing process today. This is Alla's work, to enter into their lives bringing comfort, relief and hope.

Alla met with wonderful people at Temple Emek Shalom in Ashland, Calvary Chapel in Grants Pass,

Journey Church and Table Rock Fellowship in Medford. She shared with small groups and worship services. She was even invited for a radio interview for CUFI's (Christians United For Israel) Daughters of Zion radio program!

What did Alla discover on her first trip to America?

She discovered that there are many people in Oregon who care deeply about the individuals she works with. Alla came home feeling encouraged because of the interest, kind words and thoughtful gestures that people offered. The message she brings with her: "Israel and the Jewish people are loved." At their next gathering, Alla will introduce the Holocaust survivors to their friends across the sea...
